Verve is an independently operated dating and community platform for eligible lesbian, bisexual, sapphic and queer women and compatible non-binary adults. Verve runs directly in supported browsers on phones, tablets, laptops and desktops.
18+ only. Local profiles, communities and event activity depend on current approved membership.
Why Verve exists
Verve began in Australia in 2025 after founder Alisha Canaris spent years seeing the same problems repeat across women-loving-women dating: vague safety claims, thin community features, unclear subscriptions and services that made access harder than it needed to be instead of clearly explaining what members can do.
The aim is practical: provide one place for dating, friendship, one-to-one chat, community spaces, events and venue discovery where content and current membership are available. Verve does not promise a match, a reply, a profile in every location or a perfectly safe platform.

Our story
Alisha is an Australian lesbian with 29 years of lived community experience and more than two decades navigating online dating. Repeated problems—unclear value, thin community features, fake and misleading profiles, and vague safety language—led her to build the service she wanted to use herself.
Her software engineering and IT-security background informs Verve’s access controls, server-side checks, data handling and release reviews. Experience is not a certification and does not make any system invulnerable; safeguards still have limits and must keep improving.
Verve is the result: a browser-based place where dating, friendship, chat, groups, events and queer resources can sit together. Product, safety and pricing decisions are made independently in Australia, with the community—not advertising—at the centre.

Product principles

Application review can reduce some misuse. It cannot guarantee identity, age, gender, intentions, safety or future conduct.
Dating is important, but friendship, events, groups, chat and useful queer resources should not be afterthoughts.
Web Premium is 5.50 monthly or 55 yearly in a supported checkout currency, tax included, with current free limits and renewal terms stated before purchase.
Verve does not and will not show ads inside the member experience. Sensitive member details are not sent to advertising analytics.
A small independent platform should be candid about current availability, feature limits and what still needs work.
Account review
Applicants provide a current selfie before member access. Automated checks assess whether one face is present and whether it appears consistent with the moderated profile photo; every submission remains pending for human review. Approved members may receive a badge reflecting that decision.
Verification and review material is processed for defined operational, safety, fraud, security and legal purposes. Access and retention are explained in the Privacy Policy and Data Deletion page.
